Configuring sections, bays, and levels

Every location in Nautilus sits in a three-tier hierarchy. Sections are the top level, like 'A', 'B', or 'Receiving'. Bays are the shelving units inside a section, and levels are the individual shelves on a bay. Together they give each spot in the building a unique address.

Naming conventions

A consistent code like A-01-3 (Section A, Bay 01, Level 3) pays off quickly. It prints cleanly onto labels and tells staff exactly where to walk without opening the app. Settle on a format before you label the first bay and stick with it.

When you're ready to label, go to the Locations page, select the spots you want, and tap Print Labels. Nautilus generates a barcode for each one so you can tag the physical shelves to match the system.
