Setting up barcode scanning

Scanning uses your device's built-in camera, so there's nothing extra to buy. For the fastest, most reliable reads, keep the lens clean and make sure the area is reasonably well lit. Hold the code steady in frame and Nautilus does the rest, usually in under a fifth of a second.

Supported formats

Nautilus reads every common retail and logistics barcode, including Code 128, Code 39, EAN-13, UPC-A, QR codes, and Data Matrix. It detects the format on its own, so you never pick a type before scanning. The full list is in the Supported barcode formats article.

Worn, smudged, or partly torn labels are the usual reason a read stalls. Turn on Enhanced Recognition in Settings → Scanning to push those through. It leans on the AI model for tougher codes and uses a little more battery, so most teams enable it only where label quality is a known problem.
