IntroducingNautilusAIVoiceCommands

Hands-free warehouse operations are here. Learn how voice commands let your team scan, relocate, and count inventory without touching a screen.

Warehouse workers have their hands full — literally. Carrying boxes, operating scanners, climbing ladders. Every time they need to interact with software, they have to stop what they're doing, pull out a device, and tap through screens. That friction adds up to hours of lost productivity every week.

Today we're launching Nautilus AI Voice Commands, a hands-free interface that lets your team perform any scan action, look up inventory, and navigate the warehouse using natural speech.

How it works

Voice Commands runs on any device with a microphone — phones, tablets, headsets, even smart glasses. The AI processes speech locally on-device for sub-200ms response times, with cloud fallback for complex queries.

Say "scan this" and hold up a barcode. Say "where is SKU 4821" and get turn-by-turn directions. Say "count section B3" and start a hands-free cycle count. The system understands context — if you just scanned a product, saying "move to B7" knows what you're relocating.

Supported actions

Every scan action available in the app is accessible by voice: pick, putaway, receive, relocate, count, adjust, ship, and return. You can also query inventory levels, check order status, and pull up product details — all without touching the screen.

Accuracy and noise handling

Warehouses are loud. Forklifts, conveyor belts, radio chatter. Our speech model was trained on 10,000+ hours of actual warehouse audio, so it handles background noise that would confuse general-purpose voice assistants. In testing across 14 facilities, command recognition accuracy averaged 97.3%.

Voice Commands is available today on all Nautilus plans. Enable it in Settings → AI Features → Voice Commands.
